I daydream about the Steelers being able to sign one free agent offensive lineman, like Chicago's James Daniels, who is a guard but has played some center and is on the cusp of being a Pro Bowl player. I agree that this draft is deep in terms of finding a starting RT, the 3rd round should do it. I have seen the want to and drive in him to run block. I also like that he is not just a passive, soft LT in terms of run blocking. I do think that Dan Moore could develop into a John Jackson LT for the Steelers. Matt Feiler signed a 3 year $21 million contract w/ a $6 million dollar bonus. Last year, Mike Hilton signed a 4 year / $24 million contract with Cincy w/ a $4 million bonus Last year, Banner signed a 2 year $9 million contract w/ a $3.25 milllion bounus Started only one game in 2019, but had 216 offensive snaps.Īs our run game struggled, it was both perplexing and disturbing that a 6'-8" 360 pound guy was not used as a tackle eligible, to help the PS run game on short downs and distance. He made his fame by coming in as Tackle eligible during the 2019 season. In those 7 games he played a total of 5 offensive snaps. On a positive side, 2021, he was able to play in 7 of 17 games. Hey only played 59 snaps in the 2020 season. In 2020 he only played and started the first game of season, before getting injured and missing the rest of the season. He has played in only 22 of 64 possible games. Zach Banner has been on the Steelers for 4 years. I'm hoping he can still be a building block on that line. Honestly, I don't know how he got a job with us having that on his record, let alone another shot at college kids. When I read "Adrian Klemm" and "chastised," I pretty much immediately feel for the guy, given Klemm's shameful history. The Steelers might have permanently fucked up Dotson but I would move him back to RG and see what happens Why move a what seemed to a great draft pick at a position of need to an entirely new position and put his future in the hands of a loser like Klemm ? That ^^^^^ is reflective of a dumb poorly managed top to bottom team The Steelers in there infinite dumbness move him to LG a position they previously filled with UDFA talent and proceed to let Adrian Klemm a guy who has probably the worst history in the nfl dealing with young players have at young Dotsonĭotson shows up to camp a little hefty and is immediately severely chastised and demoted in camp at least Gets drafted with a late 4th rd pick and almost immediately shines at RG and continues to play very well on a mediocre team that is going to lose its previous RG (a former rd 1 pick) sooner rather than later. Is endemic of the piss poor way this team is movingĭotson by all accounts a very good player for his college team.
